Manage Larger Family Loads with Our 9 Kg Washing Machine
At AKAI India, we design our 9 kg fully automatic washing machine for households that want more load flexibility without manually transferring wet clothes between separate wash and spin tubs.
The AFT-90DBG-H is a fully automatic top load model in a Mid Black finish. Washing, rinsing and spin extraction take place inside the same steel inner drum according to the selected programme. This reduces manual handling and makes it easier to manage regular family clothing, towels, uniforms and compatible household fabrics.
Its 9 kg capacity can suit medium-to-large families, homes that wash less frequently and households whose regular loads need more room than an 8 kg model provides. The machine also includes an in-built heater for compatible warm-water programmes, a 5-star energy rating, 10 wash programmes, eight water levels and digital controls.
Additional features include Quick Wash, Auto Tub Clean, Magic Filter, waterfall wash, programme memory, delay function, auto balance, child lock, buzzer, high- and low-voltage protection and anti-rat mesh.
Is a 9 Kg Washing Machine Right for Your Family?
A 9 kg washing machine can be a practical starting point for many households of approximately four to six members. It can also suit a smaller household that washes larger loads, towels, sportswear or compatible bedding regularly.
Typical household laundry may include:
- daily clothing for several family members;
- school uniforms and office wear;
- towels and bath linen;
- jeans and heavier cotton garments;
- compatible bedsheets;
- seasonal clothes permitted by their care labels;
- larger mixed loads washed a few times each week.
Household size is only a general guide. Laundry frequency and fabric type can change the capacity requirement considerably. A load of lightweight synthetic clothing occupies the drum differently from the same dry weight of towels or jeans.
Clothes should sit loosely inside the drum so they can move through the wash action. Pushing garments tightly into the machine can restrict detergent distribution, rinsing and spin balance.
What Does 9 Kg Capacity Mean?
The 9 kg rating generally refers to the maximum permitted dry-clothes load under defined conditions. It does not mean every combination of fabrics weighing exactly 9 kg should be washed together.
Bulky household fabrics can fill the drum before reaching the stated weight. Towels, blankets and similar materials also become considerably heavier after absorbing water.
Each wash programme can have its own recommended load limit. Gentle, Quick Wash, Woollen and heated programmes may use a smaller load than the machine’s overall rated capacity.
Balanced loading remains important even when the total dry weight is within the capacity. One heavy water-absorbing item can move the load to one side during spinning.
Fully Automatic Top Load Convenience
Our 9 kg washing machine completes the main washing, rinsing and spin-extraction stages in one top-opening drum.
After sorting the laundry, adding suitable detergent and selecting a programme, the machine manages the principal cycle stages. Clothes do not need to be moved manually into a separate spin basket.
Top loading makes everyday loading and unloading straightforward. It can also reduce the need to bend as far as with many front load machines.
Fully automatic operation still requires a suitable water inlet, drainage route and electrical connection. Correct loading, detergent dosing and regular maintenance also support dependable operation.
The spin stage extracts water but does not heat-dry garments. Clothes normally require line, rack or another suitable method of drying after the cycle.
In-Built Heater for Warm-Water Programmes
The AFT-90DBG-H includes an in-built heater that warms water during supported programmes. This adds temperature flexibility for compatible garments and household laundry routines.
Warm water can support detergent action on certain everyday stains and soils. The appropriate temperature depends on the fabric, colour, construction and care label.
Cotton whites and towels may allow different temperatures from wool, elastic, printed, embellished or dark-coloured garments. Heated washing should therefore be selected according to the individual load rather than used automatically for every cycle.
The heater uses additional electricity while warming water. For lightly soiled clothes that do not require warm washing, an unheated programme can be selected.
Ten Wash Programmes for Different Fabrics
Our 9 kg washing machine includes 10 wash programmes for different laundry needs. The available programme system gives users options for regular family clothing, lighter loads, fabric-specific washing, spin functions and drum care.
Programme selection should reflect:
- fabric type
- colour
- soil level
- load size
- permitted washing temperature
- garment-care instructions
A Gentle or Woollen programme is intended for compatible delicate fabrics, while Cotton, Whites or Jeans settings suit appropriate durable garments. Quick Wash is designed for a smaller load of lightly soiled clothing rather than every full-capacity cycle.
Garment-care labels remain the primary guide for machine-wash suitability. Clothes that prohibit machine washing should not be placed inside the appliance.
Smart Select for Convenient Washing
Smart Select provides a convenient programme option for regular laundry. The machine’s digital controls allow the required wash settings and water level to be selected from the top panel.
Different loads do not always require the same duration or wash action. A small load of lightly worn clothing differs from towels, jeans or heavily soiled cottons.
Selecting a programme aligned with the load supports better fabric handling and avoids using a stronger or longer cycle where it is unnecessary.
Eight Water Levels for Different Load Sizes
The washing machine includes eight water-level selections. This allows water use to be matched more closely to the size of the load.
A smaller load does not need to be treated in the same way as a full family wash. A suitable water level provides space for garments to circulate while supporting detergent distribution and rinsing.
Too little water can restrict movement. Unnecessary excess water adds consumption without automatically improving cleaning.
The inlet tap should remain open during the selected automatic programme, and the inlet hose should remain free from bends or blockages.
Powerful Pulsator Wash Action
The pulsator creates water and garment movement inside the drum. This action helps distribute detergent and loosen everyday dirt from compatible fabrics.
Wash performance also depends on correct load size, programme, detergent, water level and stain preparation. Clothes should not be compressed so tightly that they cannot move.
Pockets should be emptied before loading. Zips, hooks and embellishments can be secured where appropriate, and compatible delicate items can be placed in a laundry bag.
Stubborn marks can be treated promptly using a fabric-safe method before the garment is loaded.
Waterfall Wash for Detergent Circulation
Waterfall wash supports water circulation and detergent distribution through the load. It works together with the pulsator during the selected programme.
Use detergent formulated for fully automatic top load washing machines. The correct quantity depends on load size, soil level and water conditions.
Excess detergent may produce unnecessary foam or leave residue, while too little may not suit a heavily soiled load. The dedicated detergent and softener area should be kept clean so products can enter the wash correctly.
Magic Filter for Lint Collection
Magic Filter collects lint and loose fibres released during washing. Regular cleaning helps the filter remain effective.
The filter works alongside good laundry sorting. Towels, fleece and other lint-producing fabrics can be separated from dark or lint-attracting clothing.
Pockets should be checked for tissues and paper before loading. After cleaning, the Magic Filter should be placed back securely before the next cycle.
Quick Wash for Lightly Soiled Clothing
Quick Wash provides a shorter programme option for a smaller load of compatible, lightly soiled garments.
It can be useful for frequently worn everyday clothing that does not require a full or intensive programme. Heavily soiled clothes, towels, bedding and full-capacity loads may need another wash setting.
Laundry still needs to be sorted, and detergent should be dosed appropriately even when a shorter cycle is selected.
Steel Inner Drum
The steel inner drum provides a durable washing surface for regular family use. Washing, rinsing and spin extraction all take place within this chamber.
Coins, pins, keys and other hard objects should always be removed from pockets. These items can strike the drum or become trapped during operation.
The drum can be maintained through routine cleaning and the available Auto Tub Clean function. Abrasive tools and corrosive chemicals should not be used on the appliance.
Removing clothes promptly after a cycle and allowing moisture to dissipate supports a fresher drum environment.
Auto Tub Clean for Routine Care
Auto Tub Clean supports periodic care of the inner drum. The programme is operated without a laundry load and helps manage residue inside the washing area.
Tub cleaning works alongside regular care of the Magic Filter, detergent area, lid and drum rim. Homes with frequent washing or mineral-rich water may need to pay closer attention to visible residue.
Only a washing-machine cleaning product suitable for the appliance should be used when required.
Soft-Close Glass Lid
The AFT-90DBG-H includes a soft-close glass lid. Its closing mechanism helps reduce sudden lid movement during normal use.
The transparent glass allows the drum area to remain visible and complements the Mid Black finish.
Heavy objects should not be placed on the lid, and hard items should not be allowed to strike the glass. The surface can be cleaned using a soft cloth rather than abrasive tools.
