8 Kg Automatic Washing Machines

At AKAI India, we offer 8 kg fully automatic top-load washing machines for households that want convenient single-drum washing with useful capacity for regular family laundry.

Simplify Family Laundry with Our 8 Kg Washing Machines

At AKAI India, we design our 8 kg fully automatic top-load washing machines for customers who want to complete washing, rinsing and spin extraction in one drum. Our current collection gives you two distinct choices: AFT-80DBHG in Mid Black without an in-built heater and AFT-80DGG-H in Inox Grey with an in-built heater.

Both models are positioned with 5-star energy ratings, 10 wash programmes, eight water levels, steel inner drums, digital controls, Magic Filters, waterfall action, programme memory, auto balance, child lock, voltage protection and anti-rat mesh. They share the same published body dimensions of 542 x 552 x 1010 mm, but the weight figures need correction before comparison.

The decision should begin with your laundry pattern. An 8 kg washer can be a practical choice for many medium households or smaller households that wash towels and bedding regularly. The heater model adds approved warm-water capability, but it may cost more and consume additional energy during heated programmes. Choose it for a verified need rather than assuming heat is required for every load.

Who Should Choose an 8 Kg Washing Machine?

We recommend considering this capacity when:

  • Approximately three to five people share regular laundry;
  • Your loads include everyday clothing, towels, uniforms and compatible bedsheets;
  • You wash several times a week and want more headroom than 7-7.5 kg;
  • You prefer a top-opening machine and minimal manual transfer;
  • You have an appropriate water inlet, drain and earthed socket;
  • You want a choice between standard and heated washing.

Household size is only a starting point. Heavy cottons, jeans and towels use capacity differently from light synthetic clothing. Do not compress garments to make them fit. Clothes need room to move, and uneven bulky items may cause imbalance even below the weight limit.

For high-volume laundry or frequent bulky loads, compare our 9 kg or larger models. For lighter, frequent cycles in a smaller household, a 7.5 kg model may be sufficient.

What Does 8 Kg Capacity Mean?

The rated 8 kg capacity generally refers to the maximum dry-clothes load under specified test conditions. It is not a promise that every group of garments weighing 8 kg can safely be washed together.

Fabric bulk, absorbency, programme and care labels matter. A blanket or curtain can occupy the drum and become much heavier after absorbing water. Check both the appliance manual and item-care instructions before washing bulky pieces. Capacity alone does not confirm suitability.

Load garments loosely and distribute them evenly. Overloading can restrict movement, detergent distribution and rinsing. A single absorbent item may also create imbalance during spin, so follow programme-specific load limits.

Fully Automatic Top-Load Convenience

Our 8 kg fully automatic models use one top-opening steel drum for the main sequence. After you prepare the load, detergent, water connection and programme, the washer manages the wash, rinse and spin stages without requiring you to transfer wet garments between tubs.

This provides less manual handling than a semi-automatic machine. It still requires correct sorting, detergent dosing, stain treatment and maintenance. A compatible water supply and drainage arrangement are necessary for reliable automatic operation.

Choose the standard model when you do not need heated programmes and want the lower-priced option. Choose the heater model when you have garments compatible with its verified temperature programmes and value warm-water washing. Never use heat on a fabric unless its care label permits it.

When Is an In-Built Heater Useful?

The heater in AFT-80DGG-H can warm water during compatible programmes. Warm washing may help detergent action and care routines for certain approved fabrics, but the temperature must be selected according to garment labels.

Ten Wash Programmes for Different Laundry Needs

The standard model supports these programmes: Smart Select, Tub Clean, Synthetic/Saree, Cotton 30 C, Quick Wash, Woollen, Whites, Jeans, Air Dry/Spin and Gentle.

Select a programme for fabric, colour, soil and load size. Gentle or wool settings should be used only for machine-washable items. Quick Wash is intended for compatible lightly soiled loads, not every full-capacity cycle. Jeans and towels may require different handling from sarees or synthetics.

Safety Features

Both product has child lock, high/low-voltage protection, auto balance and anti-rat mesh. These support safe operation but do not replace supervision or correct installation.

Child lock generally prevents unintended control changes; it does not make the machine safe for children to climb on. Voltage protection works only within its design. Use a properly earthed socket and keep controls, cable and plug dry.

Anti-rat mesh helps protect covered entry points but cannot guarantee protection against all pest damage. Inspect wiring or hoses if activity is suspected.

8 Kg vs 7.5 Kg vs 9 Kg

Choose 7.5 kg for regular small-to-medium household loads. Choose 8 kg for slightly more everyday headroom, towels or less frequent cycles. Choose 9 kg or larger if laundry regularly accumulates for more people or compatible bulky items.

7.5 kg Capacity

  • Practical Starting Use: Regular small-to-medium loads
  • Main Consideration: Compact capacity choice

8 kg Capacity

  • Practical Starting Use: Medium family and mixed laundry
  • Main Consideration: Standard model vs. in-built heater requirement

9 kg+ Capacity

  • Practical Starting Use: Larger or higher-volume loads
  • Main Consideration: Space, water usage, and programme requirements

These are not fixed family-size promises. Measure actual laundry habits and installation space.

Installation Checklist

The published product dimensions are 542 x 552 x 1010 mm. Measure the delivery route and installation area, allowing extra clearance for lid opening, hoses and servicing.

Confirm:

  • A firm, dry and level floor;
  • An earthed power socket within approved reach;
  • Water pressure within the verified range;
  • A suitable drain point and hose path;
  • Enough top clearance for the glass lid;
  • Protection from direct rain and heat;
  • Access for installation and service.

Use professional installation where offered. Do not use unsafe extension boards or alter electrical components.

Care and Maintenance

  • Empty pockets and sort laundry before every cycle.
  • Clean the Magic Filter and detergent tray regularly.
  • Run Tub Clean as directed.
  • Remove clothes soon after washing.
  • Wipe the lid, drum rim, body and controls with a soft cloth.
  • Inspect inlet and drain hoses for bends or damage.
  • Keep the machine level and the surrounding floor dry.
  • Unplug before user-permitted maintenance.
  • Contact authorised service for internal or electrical repair.
