Manual defrosting is a normal part of using a direct cool refrigerator. The defrost process should be carried out when ice accumulation begins to restrict storage or cooling space.
Manual Defrosting Made Simple
Manual defrosting helps remove accumulated ice from the freezer area. Before defrosting, perishable food should be moved to another suitable cold-storage location and the refrigerator should be disconnected according to the operating instructions.
The freezer door can be kept open while the ice melts naturally. Sharp objects, knives and direct high heat should not be used to remove ice because they can damage the inner lining or refrigeration system.
Once the ice has melted, the interior should be wiped dry before the refrigerator is switched on again. Food can be returned after the appliance reaches its normal cooling condition.
