Akai India – Installation Policy This Installation Policy ("Policy") outlines the terms and conditions governing the provision of installation services by Akai India (“Akai”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) exclusively for purchases made directly through Akai India’s official Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) platform (www.akaiindia.in). By proceeding with the purchase and delivery of any eligible product from our platform, you (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”) acknowledge and accept the terms of this Policy. This Policy does not extend to purchases made via third-party retailers, marketplaces, or offline channels. Akai India offers complimentary installation for select categories of consumer electronic products, which include air conditioners (ACs), televisions (TVs), and interactive flat panel displays (IFPDs), subject to the specific terms described herein. For air conditioners, standard installation is provided at no additional cost and is limited strictly to the scope defined by the manufacturer’s product specifications. This includes mounting and connecting indoor and outdoor units using the wiring and piping included in the original packaging. Any requirement for additional materials such as extended copper piping, drainage, wiring, stands, or electrical enhancements beyond what is pre-supplied will not be covered under standard installation and will be chargeable to the customer. Customers may request additional work, but any such services must be mutually agreed upon and directly managed between the customer and the authorized Akai engineer. For televisions, Akai India provides free wall-mount installation using the kit included in the product packaging. The wall surface must be structurally suitable for secure mounting; any customer requests involving special brackets, wall treatments, or alternate positioning that require additional labour or materials will fall outside the scope of complimentary installation and may incur extra charges. Additionally, Akai India offers free installation on all LED televisions above 24 inches. Similarly, for IFPDs, free wall-mounting will be offered at the delivery site using the provided mounting kit, subject to the suitability of the wall. Any non-standard requirements for reinforcement, surface modification, or hardware substitution are not covered under the free service and may involve additional arrangements or costs borne by the customer. Akai India disclaims responsibility for any wall damage, visual dissatisfaction, or complications arising from such installation variations initiated by the customer. Installation for IFPDs will be scheduled depending on location and engineer’s availability. The un-installation of any old unit, including air conditioners, televisions, and IFPDs, shall be chargeable. Charges for uninstallation will vary depending on the product type, complexity, and location. This service is not included in the free installation offer and must be paid for separately by the customer. For audio products and washing machines purchased via Akai India’s official D2C website, customers must contact Akai India’s customer support to request a demo and unboxing. An Akai engineer will visit to unbox the product and provide a complete demonstration. This process is in place to safeguard the customer and allows Akai India to verify and authenticate that the product has not been damaged during logistics at the time of opening. Products with missing accessories, tampering, visible use, or self-installation before the engineer’s visit will not qualify for replacement or exchange. Only verified claims, supported and approved by Akai India’s customer support team, will be considered eligible within the 15-day window. All installation services are free only when the purchase has been made through Akai India’s official D2C website www.akaiindia.in and will be carried out exclusively by Akai-authorized service partners or engineers. Free installation services are limited to locations within the municipal limits of our nearest service center. For installations outside municipal limits, up-country conveyance charges will be applicable and must be paid by the customer. Once the product is delivered, Akai India shall contact the customer for demo and installation. Akai customer support will reach out within 24 to 48 hours to schedule an installation appointment, based on engineer’s availability and location-specific service coverage. Akai India strives to complete the installation within four (4) business days from the date of delivery. However, while we aim for prompt service, occasional delays may occur due to regional limitations, force majeure events, or unavailability of the customer at the delivery location. It is important to note that if the customer chooses to get the product installed by an external technician or undertakes self-installation, the product warranty shall be rendered void. Any physical damage, performance issues, or functional defects arising from installation performed by unauthorized personnel will not be covered by Akai India, and all resulting service needs will be at the customer’s own expense. To ensure transparency in case of any product damage or defect, Akai India’s technician will collect video documentation of the product condition before the installation process begins. This video will serve as a reference in case of any damage or defect claims, ensuring both parties have a clear record of the product's condition at the time of installation. The installation engineer from Akai India will be responsible for unboxing the product. If the product is opened by the customer or any third party beforehand, any defect identified thereafter may not be eligible for replacement or warranty coverage. Any claim will be rejected if the product is moved by the customer to a location other than the delivery address registered with the order before the Akai engineer’s installation or damage inspection. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that installation conditions are safe, accessible, and compliant with standard requirements. Akai India shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or performance concerns arising due to improper site conditions, substandard electrical or plumbing setups, third-party modifications, or installations performed by unauthorized service providers. Akai India also disclaims all liability for issues that arise post-installation due to relocation, tampering, misuse, or servicing from external sources. This Policy applies exclusively to first-time installation only. Any requests for reinstallation, relocation, or delayed setup beyond this window may not qualify for free service and may be subject to charges. Customers are encouraged to keep a copy of their purchase invoice and register their product for smooth coordination of service requests. These documents are also necessary at the time of return and replacement.
