Akai TV Types: Choose What’s Right for You
Akai does not limit itself to just high-end smart TVs. We carry all types of televisions to suit different budgets and needs:
- Smart LED TVs (Google TV / Android) – These run Google TV (based on Android) for internet apps, voice control and streaming. Akai’s Google TVs use Android 14 OS, offering a user-friendly interface and built-in Chromecast. They include popular features like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Google Assistant voice search.
- QLED TVs – Akai’s QLED models (often branded PowerView) use Quantum Dot LED panels for extra-bright, vibrant color. These premium TVs deliver deep blacks, wide color gamut and high brightness – ideal for home theaters and gaming. Many QLED models support 4K UHD resolution, HDR10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio for a cinematic experience.
- Standard/Non-Smart LED TVs – These budget-friendly TVs focus on core viewing. They have HD or Full HD resolution and basic LED panels, without smart OS. Standard TVs are simple plug-and-play: just connect a cable or set-top box to watch. They’re perfect for secondary rooms, offices, guest houses or senior users who want an easy setup.
- Android TVs (Non-Google TV) – While most new Akai TVs use the Google TV interface, some models (like older Android TVs) offer the traditional Android TV OS. The difference is mainly in interface – Google TV aggregates content more intuitively, but both allow app streaming.
- HD, Full HD & 4K TVs – We offer TVs with resolutions from HD Ready (1366×768) for smaller screens, up to 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160) for larger screens. All 4K models come with upscaling and HDR support. (Currently we do not have 8K models, but our 4K TVs deliver four times the detail of Full HD.)
In each category, Akai provides multiple screen sizes. For instance, you can get our TVs in 24″, 32″, 43″, 50″, 55″, 65″, 75″, 86″ and even 100″ diagonal sizes. This means you can find exactly the right TV for any room – whether it’s a cozy kitchen corner or a grand living room theater. The table below summarizes Akai’s TV categories:
Akai TV Technology & Features
LED & QLED Display Technology
Akai offers both LED and QLED (Quantum Dot) displays to suit every preference. QLED uses nanoscale “quantum dots” to supercharge color and brightness. In practical terms, Akai QLED TVs deliver vibrant colours and exceptional brightness, so images pop with life and dark scenes show more detail. Thanks to the quantum dot layer, QLED TVs also have deeper blacks and higher peak brightness levels, making your favorite movie scenes truly cinematic. Moreover, the quantum dots ensure colors stay accurate over time – no color fade or burn-in worry.
Our LED TVs also impress: they use quality backlit panels to give you crisp, balanced images. Even Akai’s affordable HD and Full HD models benefit from engineered color calibration. For instance, the 43″ Full HD Akai TV has a contrast ratio of 1200:1, so bright whites stay bright and blacks stay rich. All Akai panels are chosen for uniform brightness and wide viewing angles, meaning everyone on the sofa gets a great view.
Key Display Highlights:
- HDR Support: Many Akai TVs (especially QLED 4K models) support HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which expands the range between bright and dark and enriches colors. This makes nights, clouds and skin tones look more lifelike.
- High Refresh Modes: Several models have Game Mode with 120Hz refresh for super-smooth motion. Great for action movies and gaming.
- Size Variants: Whether 24″ or 100″, each screen is optimized. See our TV Sizes below to pick yours.
Android 14 + Google TV Smart OS
Every Akai Smart TV comes loaded with Google TV (based on Android 14). Google TV is an intelligent platform that “aggregates content from various streaming services” into one easy-to-navigate interface. Forget juggling multiple remotes – Google TV’s home screen shows your Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and live TV options all in one place, with personalized recommendations just for you.
With Google Assistant built in, control is a breeze. Press the mic button and say things like “Play Music ” or “What’s the cricket score?” – the TV does it. You can also cast from your phone directly (Chromecast built-in), use voice to launch apps, or even add to a watchlist from your mobile. Over 10,000 apps are available on Akai TVs – from streaming services to games and fitness apps – so you’ll never run out of things to watch or do.
Parental controls are easy too: activate Kids Mode to set viewing boundaries and block content, ensuring safe family viewing. In short, Google TV makes Akai TVs smart in the way you want – simple, voice-enabled, and packed with apps.
Audio & Sound Quality
Don’t underestimate the audio power in Akai TVs. Our engineers tune the built-in speakers to give surprisingly clear sound. For example, customers have noted Akai TVs deliver “clear and powerful sound output” – dialogue is crisp and bass is balanced. All Akai models support Dolby Digital decoding, which means enhanced surround sound from standard stereo sources.
On QLED 4K models, we’ve gone further: these TVs feature Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos processing. Dolby Atmos, in particular, creates a 3D sound field, making audio feel like it’s moving around you. Watch an action scene with Atmos and you’ll hear bullets whizzing from screen to back, or music instruments layered in space. It truly transforms movies and games. Even without external speakers, the effect is impressive.
To summarize:
- Dolby Vision (selected models): Brighter, more colorful visuals.
- Dolby Atmos (selected models): Immersive 3D audio.
- Built-in Bass: Certain models include subwoofers or enhanced bass, giving deeper low-end.
- Audio Output: Use optical SPDIF or HDMI ARC to connect a home theater system.
Connectivity & Ports
Akai TVs are built to connect all your devices. You’ll find:
- HDMI Ports: 2–3 HDMI inputs on every TV. Many include at least one HDMI 2.1 port for the latest consoles and 4K@120Hz sources. The others are HDMI 2.0. Connect set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and soundbars seamlessly.
- USB Ports: 2 USB 2.0 ports allow plug-and-play media. Watch videos or play music directly from a USB stick.
- Ethernet & Wi-Fi: A gigabit LAN port plus dual-band Wi-Fi ensures fast streaming of 4K content (and reliable multiplayer gaming).
- Composite AV: A legacy AV input (via mini-jack) lets you hook up older DVD players or cameras.
- Headphone Jack: For private listening.
- Screen Cast: In addition to Chromecast, some models support Miracast. Mirror your phone or laptop screen for sharing videos or presentations.
For example, the 43″ Akai HD Google TV lists “HDMI 1(2.1) + 2(2.0), USB 2, LAN 1”. Whether wired or wireless, your devices will work with Akai.

How to Choose the Right Akai TV
Shopping for a TV can be tricky – here’s a quick guide:
- Viewing Distance: A common guideline is sit about 1.5× the diagonal screen size away. For example, at ~8–10 feet, a 55″ 4K TV fills your field of vision. If you choose a higher resolution (4K), you can sit closer and still see a sharp picture. For HD (720p) TVs, sit a bit further back (e.g. 43″ HD at ~8+ ft).
- Resolution: For 40″ and below, Full HD (1080p) is usually sufficient. Above 50″, go 4K for crisp detail. If you love ultra-clear detail, many Akai TVs in the 43″–100″ range offer 4K Ultra HD. Even if your content is 1080p, 4K sets often have good upscaling.
- Smart Features: Make sure the TV has the apps and interface you want. Akai’s Google TV gives you everything from Netflix to local streaming apps. If you have an Android phone, the interface will feel familiar.
- HDR: If you watch HDR movies (like on Netflix Prime Video), pick an HDR-capable TV (Akai’s 4K QLED models have HDR10/HLG and Dolby Vision for lifelike contrast).
- Audio: If you plan to use the TV’s speakers, Dolby Atmos support (on Akai QLED models) adds immersive sound. Otherwise, plan to attach a soundbar or home theater for best results.
- Gaming: For consoles/PC, ensure the TV has HDMI 2.1 (for 4K@120Hz) and a low-latency Game Mode. Many Akai TVs list a “120Hz in Game Mode” spec.
- Ports: Count your devices. Each Akai TV has multiple HDMI/USB. If you have 3 devices, make sure there are 3 HDMI inputs (if not, you can use an HDMI switch).
- Energy: Akai TVs are designed for Indian power (220V). Some models may carry an energy star rating – check specifications if this matters to you. Using the TV’s Eco Mode can save power without losing much picture quality.
By considering room size, content type, and usage, you’ll find the perfect Akai TV. If still unsure, our size filters and comparison tools on the site can help. And remember – our customer care is just a chat or call away to guide you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Setting up is easy. Your Akai TV comes with a quick-start guide and in-box accessories (power cable, stand or wall-bracket mounts, remote). If you ordered a wall-mount or installation, our technician will handle it. Otherwise, just attach the legs or wall-mount, connect the power cord, and turn on the TV. Follow the on-screen Wizard to select language, connect to Wi-Fi (for smart models), and scan channels. We recommend keeping your Akai user manual handy or using our live chat/support if you have questions. Remember: Akai TVs also support HDMI-CEC, so if you have a compatible set-top box, powering on one device can also turn on the other.
Akai Smart TVs (Google TV/Android) come loaded with the Google Play Store and all popular streaming apps (Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, ZEE5, SonyLIV, etc.). You can install more apps via Google Play. They have Google Assistant built-in: simply speak into the remote (“What’s the weather?” or “Find action movies”) to control the TV hands-free. The Home screen shows personalized recommendations (e.g. YouTube clips, movies) based on what you watch. Chromecast support lets you cast videos or photos from your phone to the TV easily. If your Wi-Fi router supports dual-band, the TV connects on 5GHz for smooth streaming. In short, think of an Akai Google TV as a smart entertainment hub – you can browse all your content without switching devices or remotes.
Akai Google/Android TVs periodically receive firmware updates over the Internet. To check for updates manually, go to Settings > Device Preferences > About > System Update. If an update is available, you can download and install it. Updates may improve performance, fix bugs, or add new features. Simply ensure your TV is online (connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and leave it plugged in during the update (it may restart once or twice). Firmware updates are free. For Standard (non-smart) TVs, there is no software to update – but even those use digital TVs tuners that can be auto-updated via cable. If you ever face issues, our support team can guide you through any troubleshooting steps.
Akai’s brand warranty covers all manufacturing defects for 1 year from purchase. This includes issues like panel failure, dead pixels beyond the acceptable limit, or electronics faults. The panel (screen) itself has a separate 2-year combined warranty (1-year + 1-year panel warranty). The warranty also covers soundbar components on TV soundbars. Note that the warranty does not cover damage due to mishandling, water, excessive voltage, or unauthorized repairs. In the unlikely event of a defect, simply contact our support or nearest service center with your invoice or warranty card. We will repair or replace the TV as needed per our Warranty Information.
Yes, Akai India has a replacement & exchange policy. If your TV arrives damaged or is defective, we will replace it free of charge. If you wish to cancel or return within a short period (usually within 7-10 days of delivery), we allow returns/exchanges subject to conditions (e.g., the product must be unboxed but unused, with all accessories and packaging). For detailed terms, see our Cancellation & Replacement Policy. You can initiate a return request on our website or contact support. Rest assured, our team will guide you through the process.
Akai TVs are highly compatible. They have HDMI ports for set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox), and streaming devices (FireStick, Android TV boxes). Many models also support HDMI-CEC (Anynet+), so compatible devices can sync power and volume. There are USB ports for plugging in hard drives or USB sticks to view photos, videos or play media. Some models even have Ethernet ports for wired internet. Wireless options include Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0 – you can connect wireless keyboards, gamepads, or Bluetooth headphones. Streaming from your phone is easy via Chromecast (built-in Google Cast) or Miracast. In short, if it’s a standard TV peripheral (HDMI/USB) or a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth device, it will almost certainly work with an Akai TV.
Akai TVs are energy-efficient. Our LED TVs typically consume 20–60 watts during normal viewing (HD models even lower), which is among the best for LCD TVs. QLED models use a bit more power at max brightness (often 80–120W for the largest screens), but support automatic brightness adjustment. Most Akai TVs are BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) rated 3-star or 4-star, meaning low standby and running consumption. Using power-saving features like auto-off timer or screen saver can further reduce usage. In simple terms, running an Akai TV for 5 hours per day usually costs less than ₹3–5 per day, depending on size. For comparison, ENERGY STAR certified 4K TVs use about 25% less power than average models, and Akai adheres to these efficient standards. So you can enjoy long movie nights without worrying about huge electricity bills.
